The Ghana Meteorological Agency has warned the general public to expect thunder and rain in northern and middle sectors of the country between 6:00 to 1:00 Pm today.
In a weather warning notice, the Meteorological Agency said the areas that will be affected include parts of the Upper West, Upper East, North East Region and the Northern Regions.
It stated that the expected areas which will be affected between 6:00 am to 11:00 am include Cheriponi, Gambaga, Gushiegu, Yendi, Bimbila, Garu, Nakpanduri and Bawku.
It added that “Navrongo, Bolgatanga, WaleWale, Tamale, Daboya will as well be affected between 7:00 am and 12:00pm midday.”
Between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm, areas such as Tumu, Wa, Funsi, Sawla, Bole, Damongo and Buipe are expected to be affected.
While indicating that it would update the public when the there is any new development, the weather agency stated that the middle and coastal sectors are expected to be affected later in the day.
Meanwhile, the rains continue to wreck havoc in several parts of the upper east region. The main Bolgatanga-Bawku road remains cut off as travelers and vehicles are compelled to make some 6 hours journey from the regional capital through the north east region.
Several homes have also reportedly collapsed leading to the death of four persons in the region.
