The National Youth Wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it is set to embark on a national campaign dubbed “Boots on the Ground” to boost the party’s chances of winning the December 7 elections.

The National Youth Wing of the party in a communique explained that the “Boots on the Grounds” is a well thought through campaign strategy which will see to the deployment of the regional and constituency youth wings of the party as well as the party’s students wing and volunteer groups to propagate the 2020 campaign messages of the party and showcase the NPP government’s achievements to Ghanaians at lorry terminals, on campuses, in households and communities across the country.

“Boots on Grounds is a well thought through campaign strategy coordinated by the National Youth Wing to get all the 16 Regional Youth wings, 275 Constituency youth wings, TESCON branches and Youth Volunteer Groups to embark upon massive Door-Door Campaigns, Community Campaigns, Street Campaigns, Lorry Terminal Campaigns and Markets Campaigns, campus to campus campaign and youth groups campaign across the country,” it stated.

The communique stated that the National Youth Organizer of the party, Nana Boakye believes the youth involvement in the party’s campaign for re-election is crucial since the government of the party has implemented numerous youth-centred policies which are transformational and life-changing in its first tenure in office and intends to implement several others if it is retained in office in the upcoming elections.

It added that the youth wing of the party has been prepared and well positioned to dominate all platforms including social media and traditional media to canvass support for the party’s retention in government in the 2020 elections.

“The NPP youth wing has been strategically positioned and prepped to dominate and leverage every single medium — social/traditional media and grounds — to sell the good message of the NPP government,” the communique said.

With about three months to the 2020 General Elections, the various political parties particularly the two leading parties have adopted various means to reach out to the masses to canvass for votes.

The leaders of the two main political parties and their running mates have been touring the various regions in a bid to solicit support from the Ghanaian voters so as to boost their chances of winning the elections.
