A businessman and philanthropist, Nelson Ndebah Ndebugre has donated Mathematical sets to all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Bawku West District.
Mr Ndebah explained, at the donation, that the gesture is his little way of motivating the pupils to embrace education and excel in their upcoming exams.
He reiterated the urgent need for parents to finance their wards education more especially the girl child.
Mr. Ndebah initially started his kind gesture with five Junior High Schools in the district three years ago and subsequently increased the number to twenty four in 2022 before extending it this year to cover the entire district.
Underscoring the importance of education, Mr. Ndebah, a son of the late renowned lawyer and former Member of Parliament for the Zebilla Constituency Lawyer Ndebugre, indicated that he has become successful due to education and therefore, appealed to parents and stakeholders in the education sector to drum home the need for children of school going age to be in school.
Receiving the items, Deputy Director of Education for the Bawku West District, Moro Mohammed Akugre thanked him for the donation and promised to deliver the items to the beneficiaries with the ultimate goal of accomplishing the intended target.
The Headmaster of Zebilla Junior High School, Akumasi Anthony was also thankful to Mr Ndebah affectionately called NNN for touching lives in and outside the Bawku West District.
He stated that donations of that nature are of great motivation to the pupils to learn hard and therefore charged others to emulate the good work of Nelson Ndebah Ndebugre and equally come to the aid of pupils in the district.
Master Atewin Einstein, a BECE candidate of Zebilla Junior High School who spoke on behalf of the pupils could not hide his joy about the donation, and promised they will learn harder as they furthers their education in future.
